June 13th Certification Exams and end of the semester party (10am-2pm)
We will have a pizza party lunch to celebrate and will watch some excerpts (I will not be showing any film in its entirety so as to avoid anything controversial - I am just going to pick a few short segments)from some well known kung fu movies. I am asking for each parent to bring $20 per child. This will cover each of their personal framed certificates, award ribbon, their “gold bar” patches, official photo, (individual and group) and the pizza lunch.

Tuesday, June 9th Radio Show “Making A Difference” (6:30pm-8:00pm)
www.lovebroadcasting.net/, click on schedule for “heavensgateway” and scroll down to Tuesday at 7pm, the program is called “Making A Difference,” Hosted by Erica Wakefield.
We have been invited to do a special radio program. I will spend part of the next couple of classes working on a writing project to help prepare the kids to share their feelings and ideas about their kung fu training and how it has helped them. I will also be sending home some info so you can help them prepare as well. The program is 1 hour long, so each child will get a chance to present (they will be able to read from what they have prepared), and we will have some free form discussion as well as some working out. The radio studio is just down the street form the school on Main. The program
begins at 7, so well need to meet at the studio at 6:30 to prepare. Parents are welcome to stay and watch! My friend Erica Wakefield regularly hosts the program “Making a Difference” and is really excited about hearing from the kids about how kung fu has made a difference for them. Please check out the link for more info and directions.
We will be conducting class at the market so we will meet there at 11am and the demo will be at noon – the kids should be all finished no later than 12:30. This particular Farmers Market is the “Animalia” market which is super kid and family friendly so hopefully you will all come out for this event – It will be a lot of fun. Be sure to check out the link for more info, directions & parking, etc.
