Yim Ving Tsun is the founder of the style that bears her name. It was her willingness to fight for a life she was willing to live that brought the Ving Tsun system into our consciousness today.

As her marriage partner and student, Ving Tsun’s husband Leung Bok Toa stands beside her as co-founder.  Without students to support this study, the Ving Tsun system could have stopped right there – but it didn’t.

The name Ving Tsun has been translated as Beautiful Springtime, Eternal Springtime, Spring Chant. The plum blossom motif reflects the springtime referred to. It may also be worth noting that plum blossoms are known for blooming in the winter as well as in the spring.
