Childrens Kung Fu - Richmond VA

Kung Fu is good for kids and teens

The Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy has been teaching Ving Tsun Kung Fu to yourg people since 1990. The Ving Tsun system was designed to enable every person to defend themselves, regardless of size or strength. The training methods are very safe, minimizing the risk of injury to participants. All classes are led and supervised by qualified instructors, and good character habits are trained, such as focused attention, discipline and respect. Good behavior is encouraged, with gentle but firm counseling when discipline is needed.

Children and teenagers are taught in separate classes on the following regular schedule:

  • Kids age 6-12 Mon and Wed 530-630pm
  • Teens age 13-18 Mon Wed and Fri 630-730pm

First lessons in our Introductory Program for Kids or Teens are held on Fridays at 530pm. Private lesson times are flexible and may be scheduled at your convenience. Click below to schedule the first lesson for either one.

Kids Kung Fu Classes Richmond VA

Kung Fu is fun and kids love it!

In each kids class at the Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy, we play forms and conditioning drills as a group, as well as other fun, useful exercises, such as chasing a focus pad with punches and kicks. Kids also get the opportunity to participate in fun activities, like the Lion Dance in the picture below. Kids have a great time, and develop focus, self-respect and respect for others, confidence, creativity and wits. Teenagers respect Moy Yat Kung Fu

Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu is real kung fu for real people facing real-world problems. Kung Fu training helps teens bridge the gap from childhood to adulthood, developing self-esteem, discipline, motivation, respect and humility. Teenagers learn how to work hard and smart. They will develop the ability to defend themselves, as well as get things done. The teen years are challenging, and a challenge like Ving Tsun gives students skills they can use to navigate them successfully and become a productive, responsible adult member of society.
