Video: Moy Tung Deadly Wong Jeang (side-palm strike) to the throat
Moy Tung Ving Tsun Kung Fu has many killing techniques, including many different types of strikes to the throat. In this video, Grandmaster Moy Tung, disciple of Moy Yat and grandstudent of the legendary Yip Man, demonstrates one way to do a Lop Dar with a chop to the neck.
Breaking it down in detail - Moy Tung performs a Lop Sao (grab/trap-and-pull in this case) technique with his right hand and is guarding and open to strike with his left hand, when Sifu Stuart Zeno's left hand begins to come forward - and in a relaxed way, Grandmaster Moy Tung instead uses his left hand to Lop Sifu Zeno's left hand, quickly striking to his throat with a right-hand Wong Jeang (side-palm strike).
Notice the power, speed and control with which he strikes, stopping his hand gently on Sifu Stuart Zeno's throat, cutting short an attack that could have broken his neck. This is Ving Tsun; this is Moy Tung Kung Fu.
If you are interested in Ving Tsun Kung Fu training but find this intimidating, don't worry - this is advanced training with senior students, and Ving Tsun Kung Fu training is designed to be safe. To do this level of Chi Sao training requires a foundation in kung fu that can only be developed through years of dedicated Ving Tsun Kung Fu training. This video is so you can see the kind of kung fu you can develop by training at the Richmond Moy Yat Kung Fu Academy - and any of the more than 20 Ving Tsun Kung Fu branch schools in the Moy Tung lineage.
This video is an excerpt of another video posted April 23, 2016: Moy Tung Chi Sao - Demo of elbow position and more. If you saw that one and blinked, you might've missed the Wong Jeang.
