This is because the Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu system is so efficient for martial arts training and self-defense situations. We practice a system of forms, conditioning drills and two-person exercises that develop strong legs and powerful strikes, to keep you on your feet in a fight, with strong hands that have control, and can trap an attacker’s hands, blocking and hiting at the same time. Ving Tsun practitioners are hard to take to the ground, but we have takedowns, and many ways of finishing fights quickly.
You will develop kung fu horse, power and centerline control, enabling you to quickly neutralize your opponent’s techniques while using any number of your own to end the confrontation. Whether in fighting or training, Ving Tsun Kung Fu is relaxed, generating great power without relying on strength. Ving Tsun even uses opponents’ strength against them.
With enough training, you can subdue an aggressor without hurting them. With enough kung fu, you can stop an attacker with a look, or even your reputation. You will become stronger in body and mind, from the inside out and outside in. The more you develop your kung fu, the more relaxed you will become, better prepared to deal with anything life throws at you, more successful in everything you do.

Real Kung Fu for real people
The Ving Tsun system of individual and two-person drills is highly productive for developing martial skill, and it’s good for your personal development, life and well-being. Training is designed to be safe, minimizing the risk of injury to participants, and it develops great energy, and improves mental and physical health. The highest level of kung fu development comes from training in a relaxed manner, with attention to form, principles and detail, and without regard to ego or who you are training with. Ving Tsun is passed on informally and learned naturally, by students training according to instruction. Students are allowed to work through the system at their own pace, developing their own kung fu.
We do not have belts or bowing. You can measure your progress by your results; your kung fu. You can show respect for the system, your teacher, your school and yourself by paying attention and training hard. As Ving Tsun Kung Fu is for fighting in self-defense, we do not encourage participation in tournaments, but if that’s something you like to do, the skill you gain from Ving Tsun training will prove useful in any sport or other endeavor you pursue.
Ving Tsun – a complete system of Kung Fu
It can take a decade or more to master Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu training, but effective self-defense and fighting skills can developed quickly. In your first class, you will learn training methods and martial arts techniques, principles and strategies that will be immediately useful for self-defense.
If you put a year or two into training, you will have a kung fu foundation that will take care of you for life. With two years of consistent, hard work, time and energy invested in martial arts training – the meaning of kung fu – it’s possible to become expert in the Ving Tsun system.
